Seasonal Eating Supper: Spring & Summer
Time & Location
About the Event
Seasonal eating is one of the keys to promoting a healthy body and a healthy planet.
This interactive dining experience explores the reasons why this is so widely acknowledged, how we can incorporate seasonality into our diets, and the benefits we will receive and achieve.
The evening is hosted by Nina Osswald - a sustainable foodie with a particular passion for whole plant-based nutrition and how the food we eat impacts our physical and mental health. She has studied sustainable food systems from an academic angle and is equally interested in the practical aspects – from organic gardening, foraging and cooking to experimenting with fermented nut cheeses. While living and working in India for several years, Nina gained many insights into how ayurvedic and yogic wisdom links to food and overall wellbeing. In her day job, Nina works as Co-ordinator at Good Food Oxford, Oxfordshire’s sustainable food network.
Your evening will start with a walk around our kitchen gardens to see what’s growing right now.
The conversation will continue whilst you prepare a delicious side salad using this produce.
Over a delicious dinner we’ll discuss the Western approach to planetary and human health, as well introducing eastern Ayurvedic principles as an alternative understanding of how and why we can structure our diets.
Communal eating, learning, and the exchange of knowledge and experience will all come together to provide a rich and fulfilling evening, leaving you inspired to live more seasonally.
Delivery of our mission is a collective effort and our values embrace inclusivity and diversity. We don’t want price to be a barrier to anyone visiting FarmED or attending our events. Read more about our tiered pricing policy here.
