About the Event

Are you wanting to get your hands dirty? Help us sample our soil across the top half of the farm so we can assess its health and fertility.

Improving our soil health on the farm is essential to FarmED's mission. We need to track changes every 2 years to make sure the regenerative farming practices we are implementing on our land are increasing soil health, sequestering carbon dioxide, and creating a home for all the creatures in the ecosystem under our feet.

Each volunteer session will cover the soil sampling of 2 fields across the farm. Danielle, FarmED's earthworm and soil sampling expert will be on hand to provide you with all the information you need to undertake the sampling, and of course with some cool facts about earthworms.

We will be using augers, and spades to dig out the soil. A decent level of fitness/strength will be required from volunteers to use the auger and carry soil samples across the fields.

After signing up, you will get some information about the process of soil sampling to familiarise yourself with it before getting out on the farm.

You will receive a warm bowl of soup and fresh bread as a reward for all your hard work.

We like to take photos and occasionally videos of our events to use on our website and social media, please let us know if you do not want to be photographed.
