Matt began his career in growing and farming in France, where he volunteered in a community with learning difficulties and learned to milk cows. He undertook a vocational apprenticeship in Scotland before working on a fruit farm in Kent to raise funds to study agriculture at degree level at the RAU and Nottingham University.
After graduating, Matt worked at North Aston Organics as a Field Scale Grower and established the North Aston Dairy. He then took up the position of Head Grower at Coleshill Organics where he spent three years, before taking charge of the production end of the Kitchen Garden People’s operations, working alongside Dan Betterton.
‘It’s so satisfying to produce local food for lots of people,’ Matt says.
