About the Event

Join Matt Elliot, a new entrant farmer, as he discusses why anyone would want to be a farmer in this changing landscape... Read More...
Farmers feel like they’ve been having a tough time recently. Is this a justified feeling, or do they just like complaining? How could issues around the withdrawal of the Basic Payment Scheme and limited availability of environmental funding affect farmers in the long term, and why do they need subsidies anyway? What could be the effects of this transition on Farmers and their ability and willingness to fund environmental improvements on their farms? Not only this, but Inheritance tax and trade deals are also a worry and input costs are sky high too - who would be a farmer?!
