Junior Chef
A great opportunity for an aspiring Chef. We are looking for a hardworking, positive individual to join our small kitchen team, learning from the ground up with a highly experienced Chef.
This Role
As a FarmED Junior Chef you will be working as part of a small team responsible for feeding our cafe visitors as well as the range of guests and visitors attending courses and events. There may be a light lunch for 10 farmers one day, a seasonal feast for 100 conference guests the next, and every day in the kitchen is different!
This is a great opportunity for an aspiring Chef. There will be plenty of on the job training and learning opportunities from our experienced team with the possibility of more formal training for the right candidate.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a strong interest in food, where it comes from and using local, seasonal produce
- Have bags of enthusiasm
- Have at least 2 years experience in a similar role
- Enjoy being a flexible team player with a positive, can do attitude & good communication skills
- Be fluent in English
- Be able to drive and have your own transport due to the remote location
- Share the FarmED vision and core values; be environmentally conscious & have an interest in regenerative farming & food production.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing vegetables from our kitchen gardens, helping to create soups, salads, hot and cold main dishes
- Being involved with making our own sourdough pizzas and breads
- Helping to manage the fridge and stock rotation to ensure no wastage
- Work alongside our Head Chef to support with service
- Being able to run the kitchen in our Head Chef’s absence
- Ensure that the standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times, especially at the end of service
- Be an ambassador for FarmED in all you do
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks designated by the Group Director & Operations Managers.
