About the Event

Join us for an informative and inspiring day on the farm to explore the challenges and opportunities in sustainable farming and food, and how we can nourish people and regenerate the planet.

We discuss the challenges facing farmers and consumers before exploring the range of regenerative principles and agroecological practices open to us. We look at the food we grow, sell and eat; and how we can all do more to benefit our own well-being by farming with nature.

You will hear lots about soil heath, gut health and everything in between!

The day is delivered by the FarmED team and includes a mix of formal presentations and interactive workshop sessions. A guided farm walk will take in our diverse herbal ley and arable rotation, the market garden, mob grazing, micro dairy, apiary, orchard and natural flood management scheme.

We will also be joined by a special guest speaker - TBC.

Towards the end of the day, you will be encouraged to identify next steps for your own journey in agroecology, regenerative farming and sustainable food.

You will enjoy great food and a chance to network and learn from others.

By the end of this event participants should be able to:

- Summarise the range of environmental, economic, and social challenges facing society today drawing out the key food and farming issues.

- Discuss the most relevant regenerative principles and agroecological practices available to farmers, growers and land managers.

- Question the current food system and propose changes that go beyond sustainability and benefit people and the planet.

- Identify actions that will benefit their own business, career or lifestyle.

This event is aa one day introductory module. It runs several times a year and is designed as a beginner’s gateway to the subject, the work at FarmED and our focus modules.

It is suitable for all those interested in making a difference including farmers, growers, landowners, advisers, educators, chefs, policy makers, our local community and eaters of good food.
