About the Event

After careers in the military, healthcare and higher education sectors, Jeff Green hung up his suit and tie and took up drystone walling. Now in his sixth year as a professional, Jeff invites you to a lunchtime talk where he explores the history and practice of this ancient craft. Discover the pros and cons of exchanging the office for a life working outdoors. This talk is for anybody who wishes to learn more about drystone walling, particularly those considering a career change to rural employment.

About the speaker:

Jeff Green is a registered drystone walling professional from Bath. He has spent the last 6 years restoring and maintaining numerous dry stone walls in and around the city. He also runs our 2-day drystone walling course, where participants learn about the theory and history of drystone walling, and get the opportunity to take down and rebuild a local wall. Please arrive at 11:45 am. The talk will start at midday, and lunch will be served at 1:00 pm.
