Get Squashed! Pumpkin Planting Party

Join us on the farm for a fun-filled day out celebrating all things pumpkin and squash!  

We are supporting the annual Oxfordshire Pumpkin Festival - a celebration of locally grown, edible pumpkins and squashes.  

The festival culminates at Halloween when we'll be exploring all the delicious ways these vegetables can be eaten, to avoid the huge waste caused by carving pumpkiins and throwing them away.  

However, the journey starts now -  growing pumpkins and squashes in the spring, so you can watch the miracle of a tiny seed growing into a plant yielding tasty vegetables – and look forward to an abundant harvest of edible squashes and pumpkins in autumn. 

Your visit will start with a farm walk and nature trail, following in the tracks of some of the abundant wildlife here at the farm.  

You'll end up at the kitchen gardens to see the beginnings of this year's vegetable crops being sown.  

Next is your turn to plant your very own squash seeds and learn all about how to tend for your plants at home as they grow.  

You'll also be treated to a delicious soup made from the squashes we grew here last year, served up with our very own heritage grain sourdough.  

10am - 12.30pm or 1pm - 3.30pm  

£15 pp incuding planted seeds to take home and lunch
