About the Event

Join us for the next part of the Lunchtime Talk series where we welcome you to the world of wildflowers. Learn everything you need to know about how to establish and manage your own wildflower meadow, however large or small! Hosted by expert and technical advisor from Cotswold Seeds, Paul Totterdell, who will discuss all the different methods and approaches of planting seeds, along with the highs and lows of establishing wildflowers, followed by a chance for you to ask your own questions.

This talk will include a presentation and a Q+A session.

About the speaker:

Paul Totterdell, Managing Director from Cotswold Seeds, and beekeeper at FarmED, grew up in villages in the Cotswolds and when he was younger, worked on a mixed farm in Gloucestershire. While in the sixth form at school, he also worked part-time mixing seed orders in the warehouse at Cotswold Seeds, where he remained for a gap year and returned during the holidays while completing a degree in Computer Science. After graduating in 2005, Paul joined Cotswold Seeds full-time, tasked with improving the IT infrastructure and digitising the seed ordering system and became a technical advisor on the sales team. Paul was involved for many years with the multi-million pound, EU-funded Healthy Hay and Legume Plus research programmes, focusing on the science behind the forgotten forage legume, sainfoin. As well as being great for livestock, sainfoin is also an excellent forage for bees.  Paul was also involved with the creation of FarmED, helping to devise and refine the vision for the centre and remains a crucial member of the team today providing insight to farmers, and looking after our bees.

Please arrive at 11:45 am. The talk will start at midday, and lunch will be served at 1:00 pm.
