About the Event

Thriving, diverse, sustainable farm businesses need great people.  But where do we find them and how do we support them? How do we stimulate new enterprises on our farms? Could a new partnership or joint venture be the solution?

We are delighted to be joined by experts in this field who will explore the various models that are being tried and tested across the UK. We will discuss how enterprise stacking, joint ventures, share farming and partnerships can benefit both the bottom line and new entrants, as well as creating thriving communities.

Meet rural entrepreneur and community champion, James Odgers. Watch his inspiring new film Faith in the Soil and hear all about his work with new entrants and enterprise development at Stream Farm (www.streamfarm.co.uk). Hear from a range of young Stream Farm farmers who have made the business the success story it is.

There will be a guided tour of FarmED. See the micro dairy enterprise and kitchen garden CSA, both run by new entrants working in partnership with FarmED.

Alison Rickett from 3Keel and formerly Fresh Start Land Enterprise will talk about finding the right land match focusing on asking the right questions and understanding motivations. You will also get access to the Business Models to Unlock Future Farming Potential handbook.

Jonty Brunyee, Head of Sustainable Farming and Food Systems at FarmED and tenant farmer at Conygree Farm in Gloucestershire, will talk us through his experience of stacking diverse enterprises and working with others.

Tom Heathcote, Head of Agri-Consultancy at Knight Frank, will provide expert legal and financial advice looking at business entities, legal risks and tax implications.

We will spend time developing a personal action plan to help guide your next steps.

There will also be time for networking over coffee and a seasonal nutritious lunch from the FarmED kitchen (all included in the ticket price).

This event is ideal for farmers and landowners seeking new people and enterprises, as well as new entrants looking for an opportunity.  Advisors and facilitators would find this event useful too.
