About the Event
Lunchtime Talk with Bhutan's Farmer Sangay
A rare opportunity to share lunch with a charismatic and celebrated farmer from the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Farmer Sangay is helping to transform the food and farming systems in his country by ensuring that food is organised in harmony with nature and the wellbeing of local communities.
Bhutan, like so many other nations, is at a crossroads and is needing to assess how to address the many challenges ahead. 84% of the world’s 570 million farms are smallholdings and before naming his own family smallholding “Happy Hill Farm,” Farmer Sangay already had over 130k followers on Facebook!
FarmED invites you to this lunchtime talk with Farmer Sangay, which promises to be an insightful and upbeat cultural exchange of ideas around the theme of regenerative farming and farming models for a sustainable future. Enjoy a delicious meal from the FarmED kitchen and be transported to the rice paddies north of the Kingdom’s iconic Punakha Dzong.
Ticket price includes lunch, tea/coffee & cake.
