Orchard Maintenance Volunteer Day

Come and join us to give FarmED's orchard a summer refresh!

We are looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to come and give our beautiful heritage orchard some tlc. With guidance from FarmED staff, you will take part in replacing tree guards, clearing weeds and pruning a variety of apple pears, plums, damsons, gages and more. No prior experience is needed, but if you do have some knowledge of fruit tree pruning that’s a plus.

Bring your own gloves and a water bottle, and we will provide a delicious and nutritious set lunch freshly prepared in the FarmED kitchen. If you have your own tools (secateurs and pruning saw) it would be great if you can bring them along for your personal use, but we can provide tools if required. Please come prepared for all weather eventualities and long trousers are recommended due to the height of the vegetation in the orchard.

Volunteering with us at FarmED is a great way to meet others in the local community, learn about fruit trees, gain practical orchard maintenance experience and keep active. We hope to see you soon!
