Ruralink Military Families Fun Day *POSTPONED*

Are you in the military community and seeking a new career on the land? Do you want to run a farm or smallholding of your own? 

The Military Families Fun Day, run by Ruralink and FarmED, will give you a taste of the farming, growing and land management sector and the opportunities suitable for you.

The day will include insight presentations on the sector and possible careers, and success stories from fellow veterans. You can also join in a mini-workshop session focused on developing your own farming business idea.

There will be a farm tour with skill tasters. Try your hand at dry stone walling, sit on a tractor, make your own pizza and get close to the beehives, dairy cows and sheep. See how to grow high value nutritious food in a market garden.

There will be specific activities for children – they won’t have to sit through all the sessions with the grown-ups!

Ruralink works with the military community and the land-based sector to develop accessible pathways to a new career on the land. They are proud to be working with FarmED, a holder of the ERS Bronze Award and signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant.

The FarmED Bursary 

If funding is a barrier to you, we can help. We have a small bursary pot which we can use to help fund or part fund course fees and other expenses for those that will benefit most.
