About the Event

UPDATE: Thursday will be our last day of planting as we've managed to plant around 2,500 trees in the past six days with over 100 volunteers! Thank you all for your support!

We're branching out this year and planting thousands of trees as part of a 'Living Textbook' of Agroforestry at FarmED!

To  kick-start the tree planting season, we're teaming up with local volunteers and tree experts, the Woodland Trust, and The Kitchen Garden  People to plant a huge diversity of trees as part of National Tree Week  (27th November - 5th December 2021).

About the Agroforestry Living Textbook at FarmED

With your help we're planting a mixture of apple, plum, damson, gage and other fruits within the market garden to diversify production, provide delicious fruit to FarmED and the members of the community supported agriculture scheme, and importantly to attract beneficial insects and other wildlife amongst the vegetables.

In collaboration with the Woodland Trust there will also be a mixture of woodland trees planted alongside our eight year arable rotation to provide our livestock with food (yes, cows and sheep like to eat tree leaves!) and shelter from the wind and sun.
