Event & Office Coordinator

We have been joined by Sophie Wilkinson, our new Event & Office Coordinator.

Sophie grew up in the Cotswolds before going on to study geography at Exeter University. She is passionately interested in the interaction between human beings and the planet and travelled to California to study the impact of tourism in Yosemite National Park. Her dissertation focussed on natural flood management, taking the award-winning scheme at FarmED as a primary case study. After graduating, Sophie climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Dig Deep water charity in Tanzania. Sophie also travelled to Sri Lanka to study tea plantations before working for an eco-travel agency which specialises in trips to Bhutan, Mongolia and Myanmar. 

As Event & Office Coordinator at FarmED Sophie is the first point of contact for anyone visiting FarmED from now on, either to hire the space of take part in the exciting programme of farm walks, talks, muddy boots events we’re planning for later this year, complete with sustainable farm to fork food which will soon be available.  ‘I’m really looking forward to bringing as many different people as possible to the Centre,’ says Sophie.
