Virtual Farm Walk to Celebrate Good Food Oxford

We’re proud to be members of the sustainable food network, Good Food Oxford, and equally proud to have been invited to take part in their first ever online Annual Celebration. Taking place earlier this week, it was a chance for network members to gather and pay tribute to more than 140 organisations working for a better food future for Oxford and Oxfordshire.

The theme this year was described as, ‘celebrating diversity in all areas, from biodiversity in agriculture to diversity of food products and among the people driving our regional food sector.’

Since a physical farm walk is not possible at this time, we filmed a short virtual farm walk with FarmED founder, Ian Wilkinson, who then took part in a stimulating online Q&A session.

FarmED’s mission is to promote regenerative agriculture and sustainable food, so it was a pleasure to give Good Food Oxford members a taste of the work we are doing through our CSA kitchen garden, heritage orchard and crop rotations involving heritage wheat. Once Government guidelines allow, we’ll be delighted to offer longer farm walks, followed by delicious sustainable dishes from the FarmED Kitchen, to anyone who wants to find out more.

In the meantime, it was wonderful to gather remotely to celebrate the great work of Good Food Oxford and we will also be making a longer virtual farm walk available on our YouTube Channel. Watch that space!
