About the Event

Join Andy Howard from The Heritage Fruit Tree Co. for a theoretical and practical hands on event. You'll learn all the essential tasks and when to do them to keep your orchard well maintained. 

A hot lunch will be provided in FarmEAT, after which you will be able to put your new skills into practice in FarmED's own Heritage Orchard. 

 Subjects covered include: 

-When to prune and why 

-Rootstock growth- what to look for and how and when to remove

-Pests and diseases - what to look for, when they occur and how to offset them 

-Mulching and feeding trees - when and why

-Staking and guarding - for how long?  

-Fruit damage - causes and what to do 

-Maintaining a grass swarth …mowing…. wild flowers, livestock!! 

 

All attendees will receive a copy of our annual Orchard Maintenance Planner.

You will be asked for a few eligibility details including evidence of your involvement in regenerative agriculture and your potential impact in Gloucestershire.
