About the Event
Poor mental health is becoming one of the biggest threats to the rural community as three people within the agricultural industry die by suicide every week (statistic from BACP). As well as, 92% of farmers under 40 believe that poor mental health is the biggest hidden problem they face. Learn how to spot the early signs of poor mental well-being and acquire the skills that will enable you to make a positive difference when it matters most.
FarmED is collaborating with The Farming Community Network (FCN) to bring you a unique one-day CPD-accredited course focusing on how to notice the signs of poor mental well-being, what can be done to help and how to manage difficult conversations.
The day is ideal for people working in the rural community, those engaged with the wider supply chain and farming industry, including farm advisers, land agents, vets and agronomists. Do you recognise the signs of mental ill health within your colleagues and clients? Are you looking after your well-being? How can you support others? Are you a good listener?
The course covers content from two CPD-accredited FCN FarmWell modules; Wellbeing Support for the Agricultural Community and Listening Skills and Difficult Conversations. Each module is worth two CPD points.
The day is facilitated by the FarmED team and includes a farm walk, refreshments, and good food. There will be time for discussion and reflection. You will leave with a completed FCN workbook.
Here is the agenda for the day.
