Bug Life at FarmED
Over the past few months, Alex has been keeping an eye on the diversity of insects on Honeydale Farm. But what has he found, and what do they do?
Time & Location
11 Sept 2024, 11:45 – 14:00
FarmED, Station Rd, Shipton-under-Wychwood, Chipping Norton, OX7 6BJ
About the Event
Curious about how regenerative agriculture can affect insect life?
In 2014, Honeydale Farm was run as a conventional barley farm and insect life was surveyed. Since then, FarmED has become a haven for wildlife, with meadows, wildflowers and habitats across the site. Join us as we explore some of the insects found over the past few months, where they go and why they matter - as well as how they can help on your farm or in your garden!
About the speaker:
Alex is the FarmED Public Engagement Coordinator and has been running the minibeast safaris over the summer for families. Prior to joining us, he worked as an agricultural entomologist at Rothamsted Research as a member of the insect pest management team and insect survey.
Please arrive at 11:45 am. The talk will start at midday, and lunch will be served at 1:00 pm.
After the talk, you will get a freshly prepared, nutritious lunch from the FarmED cafe where you will be able to network with other guests.
